Activity Summary:
Preschoolers will make a butterfly using contact paper and tissue paper.
What You Need:
•clear contact paper (sticky)
•tissue paper (many colors)
•pipe cleaners
•child safety scissors
•black permanent marker
What You Do:
- Draw 2 outlines of the same size butterfly with black permanent marker on contact paper, keeping the middle section of the butterfly narrow.
- Depending on child's age, have them cut out both of the outlines.
- Child can then tear small pieces of different colored tissue paper, and place on to sticky sides.
- Press the 2 pieces together.
- Help child wrap a pipe cleaner around the middle section, leaving both ends of pipe cleaner up for the antennae.
- Hang from ceiling or stick on window.
