Activity Summary:
Little onces will create a color collage using pieces of torn, colorful paper and glue.
What You Need:
•Colored construction paper or any other paper that has color to it. (wrapping paper, old greeting cards, etc.)
•A large sheet of cardboard (either one big piece between many children or smaller pieces for each child.)
•Dishes for glue or paste. (styrofoam meat trays are great).
•Glue or paste.
•A covered work area.
What You Do:
- Tear apart many different peices (strips, squares, many shapes and sizes) of colored paper. Your children can help you rip and tear the paper.
- Pile all of the paper pieces in the middle of the floor.
- Let the kinder artists pick up bits of paper, dip them into the glue or paste and glue them down to the cardboard.
- Be sure to provide each child with a dish of paste.
- Put the finished works on display.
