Age: 2-5 years
Activity Summary:
Preschoolers will collect items from nature. They will seal these items with wax paper.
What You Need:
•bag (to collect items)
•towel (very thin dishtowel or paper towel)
•iron
•wax paper
•items from nature
•adult assistance
What You Do:
- Go on a nature walk and collect items from nature. These items should be flat, or nearly flat (ie: leaves, flower petals, grass, etc.)
- Talk about the things you find.
- Place the items between two sheets of wax paper - leave plenty of room around the items so there will be a seal.
- Cover the wax paper with a thin towel or paper towel.
- With the iron on low or medium (dry), gently iron over the towel. The heat will seal the nature items between the two pieces of wax paper.
- Hang up and enjoy.
