Age: 2-5 years
Activity Summary:
ntroduce the concept of pairs with this glue and paste collage of things that are found in twos.
What You Need:
•White glue or paste
•Old magazines, postcards, wrapping paper, catalogues, newspapers etc.
•Craft sticks (popsicle sticks) - for gluing.
•Egg cartons (to hold the glue).
•Cardboard (old cereal boxes are great) or heavy paper (about 10" by 10" per child).
•Scissors
What You Do:
- You and your kids can find pictures of things that come in pairs - shoes, eyes, feet, gloves, ears etc.
- Take the full picture of both objects and cut or tear it in half.
- Mix the pictures up.
- Your little ones can then find the matching pairs and glue them on their cardboard piece.
- You could also do this as a class project and use a wall of the classroom to make a two-by-two collage.
- Keep the two-by-two collages handy for math-time activities.
